The story of this dish
Kabak tatlısı is the favorite way to enjoy pumpkin harvested in autumn. Although pumpkin originally came from the Americas, once it settled in Anatolia it became one of Turkey's best-loved desserts.
Serving it with tahini and walnuts is a distinctly Turkish touch. When giant pumpkins start being sold by the slice at markets in November, many households know candied pumpkin season has begun.
