The story of this dish
Coxinha means "little thigh" in Portuguese, a nod to its drumstick-like teardrop shape. A popular legend claims that during Emperor Pedro II's reign, a cook who had run out of thighs for Princess Isabel's son, who would eat nothing else, wrapped the rest of the chicken in dough in this shape; but the story has no documentary basis and is regarded as folklore.

Pão de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread)
Small, gluten-free Brazilian cheese puffs made with tapioca starch: crisp outside, chewy and stretchy inside.
