Crochet Daisy Bath Scrubber (Lif)

1. 1Centre (yellow)With yellow, make a magic ring. Rounds are joined with a sl st and begin with ch 1, which does not count. Round 1: 8 sc in the ring, sl st to first sc (8 sc). Pull the ring tightly closed. Round 2: Ch 1, inc in each st, sl st (16 sc). Round 3: Ch 1, *1 sc, inc* 8 times, sl st (24 sc). Cut yellow, leaving 10 cm.
2. 2Inner petals (white, front loops only)Round 4: Join white with a sl st in the front loop only of any stitch of round 3 and ch 1. Work into front loops throughout this round: starting with the first sc in the joining stitch, *1 sc, 5 dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, sl st in the next st* 6 times (6 petals, 24 sts used). Don't cut the yarn after the last sl st.
3. 3Base for the back layer (back loops only)Fold the petals forwards; behind them you will see the unused back loops of round 3. Sl st into the back loop of the stitch where the round began. Round 5: Ch 1, working in back loops only, *2 sc, inc* 8 times, sl st to first sc (32 sc).
4. 4Outer petalsRound 6: Ch 1, starting with the first sc in the same stitch, *1 sc, 7 dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, sl st in the next st* 8 times (8 petals). The outer petals are larger and wavier than the inner ones; this is the part that holds the lather.
5. 5Hanging loopAfter the last sl st, ch 15 and sl st into the same stitch to form a loop. To strengthen it, work as many sc into the loop as will fit (about 20 sc) and sl st into the starting stitch.
6. 6FinishingCut the yarn leaving 15 cm and fasten off. Scrubber yarn is slippery, so weave the ends through the stitches in at least two different directions before trimming; don't singe them with a lighter, as polyester melts and turns hard. The petals open up a little when wet, which is normal.
