1. 1BaseWork 6 sc into a magic ring and place a marker in the first st of the round. Work in a continuous spiral without joining; move the marker up each round. Round 1: 6 sc. Round 2: inc in each st (12). Round 3: *1 sc, inc* (18). Round 4: *2 sc, inc* (24). Round 5: *3 sc, inc* (30). Round 6: *4 sc, inc* (36). Round 7: *5 sc, inc* (42). Round 8: *6 sc, inc* (48 sc).
2. 2Turning up the sideRound 9: Work 1 sc BLO in each st (48 sc). Working through the back loop creates a clear fold between base and wall and helps the basket stand upright.
3. 3WallsRounds 10-17: 1 sc in each st, without increasing (48 sc). Keep a firm tension on the yarn; tight stitches stop the basket from collapsing under its own weight.
4. 4Handle openingsRound 18: 9 sc, ch 6, skip 6 sts, 18 sc, ch 6, skip 6 sts, 9 sc. Round 19: 1 sc in each sc and 1 sc in each ch (48 sc). The openings sit opposite each other and are wide enough to slip your hand through.
5. 5RimRound 20: 1 sc in each st (48 sc). Join with a sl st at the end of the round. Round 21: Ch 1, work 1 reverse single crochet (crab stitch) in each st, moving left to right (48 sts). This edge firms up the rim.
6. 6FinishingCut the yarn leaving 15 cm and pull it through the last loop. Weave the tail through the stitches on the inside of the wall using the hook. Flatten the base by hand.
