The story of this dish
Arancini are Sicily's most famous street food; the name means "little oranges" in Italian, after the colour and shape of the fried balls. In Palermo they are round and called by the feminine "arancina", while in Catania and eastern Sicily they are often conical, said to echo Mount Etna, and called "arancino". Which is correct is still a friendly argument on the island.
