3. 3Seeds and closingWith yellow or white yarn, bring the needle out from the inside and work 1 short vertical stitch over a stitch for each seed; place them every 2 rounds, 4-5 stitches apart, offsetting each row from the previous one. Knot the ends on the inside. Then continue in red: Rnd 18: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18) Stuff the strawberry firmly. Rnd 19: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12) Rnd 20: dec x 6 (6) Gather the remaining stitches closed.
4. 4Leaf crown and stemWith green; this piece is a flat star, so join the rounds with a sl st. 5. 5FinishingCenter the leaf crown on the flat top of the strawberry so it covers the gathered hole, and sew it on with one stitch in the middle of each leaf, then around the center. Weave the yarn ends through the strawberry. Make several and add a little basket for a play food set.
